I am currently working to create some materials for the "Going online" module that will be launched in the new year for NGOs and government people who want to explore and understand the impact of online technologies on their work.

As part of this I am trying to find high quality learning materials already published online and freely available to view or download and copy (published under Creative Commons or similar).

Here are some of the things I have found so far. I will add to this list over the next few weeks so check back from time to time.

Introduction to blogging
WikiPedia's introduction to Wikis
Howard Rheingold's Virtual Communities (complete text)
An introduction to Open Source and Creative Commons
How to search
An introduction to ecommerce
An introduction to online reputation
Encyclopaedia of Internet and information technology terms
Smart Mobs - a site about pervasive computing
IT training materials for development agencies

If you know of similar learning materials, please let me know.

Hey guys,prof Briggs
I have been there, i have done most of the modules with Prof Briggs, and i have to admit, this is one of the best modules i have ever done since i was a student at Kingston. Both for my Bsc and Msc!
To "survive" in Kingston you need to study hard, but also equip your self with knoweldge that differentiate's you from others. i have tried to put some of my knowelde in practise in 1. my site http://www.nueronic.com.
2. Also, i have compiled a comprehensive list of books that will help you to get excellent grades in your modules. Go to my site and click on the reccomended books links. I have used all of these books you will find in that list, through my years in Kingston, and now in my professional life! Take a look.
