Here are some sample questions to help you plan for the examination. These questions should give you a good idea of what sorts of questions will come up.
1. Here is a list of some mobile related technologies:
(i) WiFi/80211b
(ii) J2ME
(iii) Cell location information
(iv) PDA
(v) UMTS
(vi) Bluetooth
For EACH of the following applications, select one or more of the above technologies that you would recommend to implement the application and explain briefly the choices you have made. State clearly any assumptions you are making. You may use the same technologies for different applications.
a) Information system for a delivery company (10 marks)
b) Multiplayer game inside a theme park (10 marks)
c) Tourist information system (10 marks)
2. Mobile for an organisation
To answer this question you should have prepared a report outlining a set of proposals to an organisation.
Answer all five parts of this question.
a) Outline the key points of your strategy for your organisation in a form that could be presented as a single PowerPoint slide for a managent meeting. (5 marks)
b) Describe in bullet points the steps your organisation will need to take to implement your proposed strategy. Mention any technical, content, hosting or other partners that you will need to work with.

c) Who inside and outside your organisation will be affected by your proposals and in what way? List the groups or stakeholders who will be affected and for each describe their likely reaction.
(10 marks)
d) Summarise the information systems architecture for your system using notes or a diagram.
(10 marks)
e) Describe briefly how other similar organisations will react to the full implementation of your strategy.
(10 marks)
(50 marks)
Please note that the actual examination will have 2 questions. The first will be worth 40 marks and the second 60.
